Now that autumn has finally arrived and winter is around the corner there's no better time to snuggle up on the sofa with a blanket and warm up with a hot drink. In fact, not just any drink but Belvoir's spiced winter berries cordial. I discovered this cordial around 2 years ago and have been a big fan ever since and it is one of my favourite drinks for autumn/winter time. This winter warmer is a
intensely fruity cordial that gives off a spiced aroma filled with real elderberry juice, blackberry juice and orange juice which is blended together with real cinnamon, clove and nutmeg extracts.
There are many ways you can drink this cordial but I like to add a small amount of the cordial into a mug (around 15mm, it depends how strong you want it to be) and then add around 150mm of boiling water. This makes a lovely hot berry flavored drink which is a perfect non-alcoholic alternative to mulled wine. Alternately if you wanted to make mulled wine with it you could try this simple recipe:
Spiced Winter Berries Mulled Wine
1 bottle of dry white wine (try Sauvignon Blanc)
70ml Belvoir Spiced Berry Cordial
400ml Cloudy Apple Juice
1 Cinnamon stick
Peel of 1/2 an orange
Then gently simmer all ingredients in a saucepan on low heat and serve in seven short glasses or mugs and enjoy your winter warmer!
