Trip to Cambridge

In July myself and my boyfriend, Troy, went on a trip to Cambridge to celebrate my 21st birthday and I've finally got round to sharing more of the photos from the trip with you all. I've been uploading lots onto my Instagram but I thought it was time to do a blog post about it!

I've never been to Cambridge until this trip but it's somewhere that's been on my list for a very long time and I knew i'd fall in love with it! Having visited cities such as Oxford, York and Edinburgh I was so excited to visit a city that also has a rich history and beautiful historic buildings and streets. One of the main places I wanted to visit was the Cambridge University Botanic Gardens.

One of my favourite places to visit are glasshouses, espeically old ones like the ones here at Cambridge. It really did feel like I was stepping back in time and there was so many beautiful plants and flowers to look at.

The outside botanic gardens were just as beautiful we spent a long time exploring all the different types of gardens, I'd love to go back one day and revisit them all. I'd definitely recommend a visit if you're in Cambridge and have a few hours to spare.

Of course it wouldn't be a trip to Cambridge if I didn't visit all of the different collages and historic buildings the city has to offer. Although I planned to visit a few of the collages I didn't realise that it would be graduation time when visiting, so lots of the tours were closed and we couldn't get inside of the buildings. It was so nice to just explore the streets though.

As well as walking through the historic streets and visiting the collages we also took a walk down to the river Cam. It was a lovely sunny day so as expected the queues for punting were too long but it was great to watch and it was very relaxing by the river, so I think next time we'll bring a picnic. We visited The Rainbow Cafe for lunch which was an amazing vegan cafe, normally when eating out I feel quite limited for choice or it becomes a big deal. But in the Rainbow there was plenty of choice and I even got to try their vegan chocolate cake which was so nice!
